Concord Pavilion's Toffoli Dies

John Toffoli, the former general manager of the Chronicle Pavilion, died on January 30 in Walnut Creek, CA, following complications from surgery for stomach
cancer. He was the general manager from the facility's opening in 1975 to his retirement in 1995. In 1969,he was a co-founder of the venue's international jazz festival, the Concord Jazz Festival. He was also the producer of the Fujitsu Jazz Festival in New York, Toronto and Japan.
