Daniel Pearl Days Concert Set For Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — On October 16th, Valley Beth Shalom, along with the Jewish Music Commission of Los Angeles is set to host a "Concert for World Peace — A Tribute to Journalist Daniel Pearl."

Performing at the event will be The Viklarbo Chamber Ensemble, who will perform pieces by Michael Fitzpatrick, Bohuslav Martinu, Maria Newman, Zigmun Schul and Johannes Brahms.

The concert is in honor of Wall Street Journalist Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and murdered while on assingment in Pakistan. Since then, his parents Judea and Ruth Pearl established the Daniel Pearl Foundation and Daniel Pearl World Music Days to advocate cross-cultural peace through music and journalism.

First held in 2002, Daniel Pearl World Music Days, which run this year throughout October, have expanded to include almost 5,000 concerts a year in more than 100 countries around the world. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
