Desert Daze Partnerships Lead To Bigger Festival

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – A newly forged triumvirate of national talent buying and live music presenting companies are teaming up for the 5th Annual Desert Daze, set to take place in Joshua Tree, CA this coming October 14-16. Tickets are on sale now and Phase One of the lineup has been announced.

Joining Spaceland Presents and Moon Block is Knitting Factory Presents. The team’s combined relationships and buying power enables a significant expansion of the artist-driven indie music festival from one day to three across multiple stages at The Institute of Mentalphysics and Joshua Tree Retreat Center.

Moon Block’s Phil Pirrone said, "I’ve built Desert Daze from the ground up and it’s amazing to have a new partner that gets our vision. I have assembled the lineup of my dreams for the venue of my dreams. Touring the country over the years I’ve never seen a festival site as unique as The Institute of Mentalphysics. Where else can you have your own cottage in the middle of a festival?”

Last year’s festival took place the first weekend in May just north of the Salton Sea in Mecca (CA) and featured headliners Warpaint, Failure, Minus the Bear and RJD2—along with 40 other acts including Dan Deacon, Chelsea Wolfe, DIIV, Deap Vally and many more. Previous performers at Moon Block festivals include Spoon, The Black Angels, Blonde Redhead, Black Lips, Band of Skulls, The Raveonettes, Liars, Autolux, Tinariwen, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Vincent Gallo, White Lung, Metz, Allah-Las and more.

Between the three of them, the three presenters operate seven concert venues across the US, and books several more from Boston to Big Sky to San Luis Obispo. Knitting Factory and Spaceland Presents are partners in the flagship downtown concert venue The Regent. Knitting Factory is presenting Horton’s Hayride in September in San Pedro. CA.
