LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Rolling Stones have denied rumors that long-time drummer Charlie Watts has retired from the band.
Australian music website undercover.com.au first reported that Watts had quit the band and quoted an unnamed source, close to the band who said: "Charlie Watts has quit the band. He will never record or tour with the band again."
The Stones subsequently tried to put the kibosh on the rumor and Stones spokesman Fran Curtis stated that "drummer Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones" and went on to describe the rumor as a "fabricated story."
Despite this, Undercover is sticking to their guns on this story, they say, until Watts himself denies it. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
