AUSTIN, TEXAS (CelebrityAccess) — Massachusetts-based Celtic punk band the Dropkick Murphys were forced to cancel a show in Tulsa on Sunday after the band's bus was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident.
In a post on the band's website, a spokesman recounted that the bus was just north of Austin when a pedestrian ran into the street in front of the bus. According to the band, the pedestrian was killed in what police suspect was a suicide. The band also reported that bus was heavily damaged in the incident, leaving the band unable to make their planned Tulsa date.
"As much as it pains us to miss a show and we truly apologize for it, we’d like to stop and acknowledge that a man has lost his life. Please keep him and any family he might have in your prayers," a spokesman for the band wrote.
The band is on their Celtic Punk Invasion Tour. Their next scheduled date is November 19 in Mexico City, Mexico. – Staff Writers
