Eddie Izzard Offers All Inclusive Tickets For Sexie

(CelebrityAccess News Service)– Double Emmy-Award-winning comedian, Tony nominated actor and iconoclastic master of surreal bollocks, Eddie Izzard might become a concert innovator for the sale of concert tickets. His ticket prices are all-inclusive. He has the utmost respect for his fans and wants them to know exactly what is being paid to see him perform. Therefore, all tickets on his North American "Sexie" tour are the actual stated price with no additional handling or surcharges. Tickets were sold by Ticketmaster in most cases or whatever ticketing company has a contract with the venue.

"Eddie Izzard has always treated his fans with the utmost respect and he continues to do so on the 'Sexie' tour," Ian Noble, tour director for national promoter WestBeth Entertainment, told CelebrityAccess. (Noble was working on this project before recently joining Metropolitan Talent and continues with the tour.) "He's opting to play multiple nights in most cities in smaller venues than his demands warrants to ensure intimacy, and his tickets are very reasonably priced at $60-$50-$40 in major markets and $50-$40-$30 in all others. But what is most unique about this tour is that those tickets prices include EVERYTHNG. There are no additional service charges, handling fees, credit card charges, taxes, facility fees or parking fees. Fifty bucks means fifty bucks, period. The customer pays the actual stated ticket price regardless of where they buy their ticket, how they pay or how many they buy. The public is weary of all these additional charges being added on to the ticket price, so Eddie did something about it."

"The tour went on sale on May 28 and sold about 25% of the 90,000 tickets available in the first couple of days. After a week we've sold about 50% of the tickets and sales are not slowing down. This was all done with one big email blast, by the way."

This new tour, his first in nearly three years, brings Izzard to theatres in 16 North American cities, beginning August 29 in Vancouver, BC and climaxing in Philadelphia, PA on November 8. Venerated and adored by fans and critics alike for his lightning quick wit, intelligence and sheer raw talent, Izzard is embarking upon the largest tour of his highly successful career to date. In cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and New York, Izzard will perform five nights running. Prior to coming to the US and Canada, he will have just finished a six week trek through New Zealand and Australia. After his North American performances, Izzard will return to the UK to play arenas, culminating with four nights at Wembley.

Izzard initially penetrated the American psyche with his one-man show "Dress To Kill" on HBO, which garnered three Emmy nominations and won two. His last tour, "Circle," was the hottest ticket in town in the nine cities where Izzard performed, culminating with a seven night sold-out engagement at New York's Town Hall. In between tours, Izzard has been earning rave reviews for his acting talent on the big screen and most recently on Broadway, where he is starring in "A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg," for which he just received a Tony nomination for "Best Leading Actor in a Play."
