LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Enrique Iglesias has apparently pulled out of atour that he was set to co-headline with resurrected pop diva Britney Spears, mere hours after the tour was announced.
The tour was announced, both on "Good Morning America," where Spears was appearing to support the release of her latest album "Femme Fatale" and in a press release by Live Nation, however the press release was officially retracted moments after it was sent.
Iglesias representative Gary Mantoosh said told the Associated Press his client and Spears won't tour "despite initial reports based on formal discussions of the possible run."
The statement added that Iglesias "is very sorry for the confusion this might have caused to anyone." The statement went on to note that the Latin singer respects Spears and is a fan of her work.
While details about the current status of the tour are still a matter of some conjecture, as of now, the tour is still on the books, just sans Enrique. The tour is being produced by Brad Wavra at Live Nation, who has also handled outings by artists such as The Backstreet Boys and the Jonas Brothers.
