(CelebrityAccess) — While residents of the Gulf Coast continue to work to recover in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, country artist Eric Church announced that he's postponed a series of shows in the region.
Affected shows include Thursday, Sept. 7 at the Austin360 Amphitheater and Friday, Sept. 8th at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlnads. The rescheduled dates are have been moved back to April 28th and April 27th, respectively.
"There is a time and place for everything, and we really feel that now is not the time for us to play in Texas," says Church. "We are regretfully postponing both performances. I look forward to seeing everyone at the rescheduled concerts next year. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all."
While his fans may be disappointed by Church's decision, they can take comfort in knowing that Church will be designating both rescheduled shows as benefits for those impacted by the storm with ticket proceeds from the concerts going directly to Houston relief charities.
Additionally, Church is inviting first responders and rescue workers to be his guests at the rescheduled shows. Details on how to obtain tickets will be announced soon.
