BERLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Festival Republic, the largest festival producer in the UK, has acquired a major stake in the Berlin Festival and will 'cooperate' in staging the event this year.
The Berlin Festival 2011 will be held at Tempelhof Airport and various venues in Berlin-Kreuzberg as part of the Berlin Music Week on 9th and 10th of September. Venues already confirmed are Arena, Arena Club, Glashaus, Lido, Magnet, Comet, and Astra Kulturhaus.
Festival Republic's Melvin Benn (Managing Director, Festival Republic Ltd) will be collaborating with Berlin Festival's Matthias Hörstmann (Melt! Festival, Intro Verlag, 11 Freunde Verlag amongst others) and the original co-founders of the festival, Hilary Kavanagh and Cornelius Opper. Berlin Festival's Stefan Lehmkuhl (Melt! Festival, Melt! Booking) will still be responsible for booking the event.
