Filter Cancels Sweden Concert After Death Threats

GOTHENBURG, Sweden (VIP NEWS) — US Rock band Filter has canceled a concert scheduled for Monday night in Gothenburg, Sweden, after receiving death threats.

"Threats were made to Filter`s well being that were not taken lightly," frontman Richard Patrick said in a statement. "We felt it necessary to cancel and are so sorry to our fans. After an extremely violent weekend in The United States our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the innocent victims in Orlando as well as Christina Grimmie`s friends and family."

The band was scheduled to play Gothenburg`s Sticky Fingers nightclub and announced the cancellation on Facebook.

As Patrick`s statement notes, the death threats follow two separate horrendous incidents in America over the weekend, both of which were related to music.
