SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Miami rapper Flo Rida has had a tough weekend in Ausralia, after being bumped from a scheduled gig and seeing an assistant busted on drug and weapons charges.
Flo Rida was in Australia, booked to perform at the Fat As Butter festival, but claims he was unable to perform, though did not elaborate on the reason.
"Australian fans, I was looking forward to performing for you but due to unforeseen circumstances I wasn’t able to do so last night," Flo Rida tweeted.
However, a rep for the festival had a different story, taking to Facebook to report that the festival ejected the rapper after he threw a "hissy fit" in Syndey and turned up to the gig three hours late and "not in a suitable condition to perform."
Meanwhile, back at the hotel, police raided a suite occupied by 33-year-old Dakari Dalawn Phillips, who is listed as Flo Rida's assistant after hotel employees reported the smell of burning marijuana. According to local reports, police seized a bag containing sixteen grams of pot, a gram joint, three grinders, and a set of scales with traces of marijuana on them. They also recovered THC in liquid and pill form, as well as a viagra pill and a taser.
Fortunately for Phillips, the judge was lenient, hitting Phillips with naught but a $1,800 AUD fine as he had no prior convictions. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
