PILTON, UK (VIP-NEWS) — 135,000 tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2017 sold out in 50 minutes.
Two million people apparently applied for tickets and demand was such that it caused the See Tickets and Glastonbury Festival websites to crash.
"We have, once again, been blown away by the incredible number of people from around the planet who hoped to come to the festival, with demand significantly outstripping supply," said a statement by organizers.
There will be a resale of any returned tickets in the spring, with registration to reopen in the next few days. Muse, Adele and Coldplay headlined the 2016 festival. No acts have yet been announced for 2017.
Glastonbury is taking a fallow year in 2018 in order to give the farm, the village and the festival team a year off, meaning next year`s event will be the last until 2019. Glastonbury`s most recent fallow year was in 2012.
