Herb Alpert Donates $1.24M To Create Site For Musicians

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Music producer Herb Alpert and his wife have donated $1.24 million to the Artists House Foundation in New York, to help create a web site to provide career development advice to musicians. The gift will be paid out over three years and cover the site’s development, three years of operation and staff salaries.

Scheduled for a January launch, the web site will include job listings, musician interviews, articles on topics ranging from online music sales to copyright law, funding sources and the ability for musicians to create their own pages on the site to promote their music. — Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
