LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Grammy-winning rock group America will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The group–Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell–will receive their star along the fabled Boulevard in 2012, which also marks the 40th anniversary of their “Best New Artist” Grammy Award.
America is celebrating their 40th anniversary with the July 26th release of their latest album Back Pages. The album is a collection of interpretations of songs by Bob Dylan, The Buffalo Springfield, Simon & Garfunkel, the Beach Boys, Jimmy Webb, Mark Knopfler as well as Fountains of Wayne, New Radicals and Gin Blossoms, among others.
Funnily enough, 'America' was founded in England in 1971 and rose to stardom with two #1 hits, “Horse With No Name” and “Sister Golden Hair,” garnering them the “Best New Artist” Grammy Award and multi-platinum records.
America is currently on their 40th Anniversary Tour which runs through the fall.
