JAKARTA, Indonesia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — While Indonesia may be home to many Lady Gaga fans, not everyone is excited about her upcoming June 3rd show in Jakarta.
On Monday, a fundamentalist Muslim group, the Islamic Defenders’ Front (FPI), said that Lady G is not welcome in the country, suggesting that the pop star promotes "devil worship."
“Lady Gaga insults all religions,” said a spokesman for FPI. "She is promoting the worship of Satan."
The FPI spokesman didn't elaborate on what the Front would do if the concert proceeded as planned, but the group has a history of numerous violent actions and raids with a goal of implementing Islamic religious, or Sharia law in Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic cables revealed by Wikileaks state that the FPI receives funding and support from police forces. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
