(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Pop star Michael Jackson's dreams to make an impressive comeback after being cleared of child abuse charges last month, have been shattered with his new greatest hits CD just selling 8,000 copies in its first week in the US.
According to industry reports, the 'Essential Michael Jackson' charted at a lowly 128 as fans snubbed the singer, and was even beaten by 1970s star Carly Simon's new CD 'Moonlight', which sold 58,000 copies.
"Carly Simon sold 50,000 more albums than Michael Jackson," said a spokeswoman for Neilsen Soundscan, which monitors the US record sales. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
