Joe Nieporte, current owner of the Emerald Theatre, and Aimee Spencer, promotions and marketing director of the Emerald Theatre, have started their new company Freq Media, a full service public relations and marketing firm.
Nieporte, a staple in the Detroit music scene, both locally and nationally for more than 17 years, began his career at the Ritz well over a decade ago. From there he went on to the historic State Theatre in Detroit as general manager. Performance Magazine rated the venue as one of 1999's top 10 grossing theaters in the country.
Last year Nieporte branched out on his own and opened the Emerald Theatre Complex, a 1,500 capacity general admission / 861 reserved seating venue in downtown Mt. Clemens, a suburb minutes north of Detroit. In one year, the complex attracted well over 35 acts, which have included Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, Earl Klugh, Fuel, The Rippingtons, Staind, Eddie Money, Evan and Jaron, Shaggy, Buckcherry, Cheap Trick and others. In addition to the Emerald Theatre, Nieporte is the owner of Hemisphere Entertainment, a production company responsible for all shows at the new venues.
Spencer joined the Emerald Theatre at its inception as the promotions and marketing director and played a key role in planning and executing many of the promotions at the Emerald Theatre.
Joining the Freq Media team as PR/marketing specialists are Christine “CK” Kotila and Isha Navarro.
Freq Media’s current roster includes internationally renowned comic book artist and illustrator, Matt Busch, The Emerald Theatre, Hayloft Liquor Stand, Hemisphere Entertainment, national recording artist Paradime, the Hamtramck Fun Train and a growing list of other local and national recording artists.
Freq Media is located at 31 N. Walnut, Mt. Clemens, Mich. 48043. For more information call 586-493-7650 or fax 586-493-7630.
