READING, Mass (CelebrityAccess) — Music Industry Veteran Katherine McVicker has launched a new booking agency, Music Works International.
Based in Reading, Mass, the new agency represents an international roster that includes Dianne Reeves, David Sanborn, Jason Moran, Lalah Hathaway, & Ruthie Foster, Plus Stars Lizz Wright, Kurt Elling, Vijay Iyer, Joshua Redman, Richard Bona, The Gloaming, Justin Kauflin, and Martin Hayes.
In addition to regular touring with their established groups, MWI will also focus on developing commissions, residencies, guest artist appearances and special projects their artist roster.
"My style of working is to build communities of presenters who can collaborate together in regional booking,” McVicker said.
“This has been particularly effective in Scandinavia and I continue to develop this in other regions of Europe and internationally. I view promoters as partners in supporting the music, not as adversaries to be pressured into high risk situations.
