LANSING, Mich. (CelebrityAccess) — Kid Rock has announced that he's planning to run for a seat in the United States Senate, representing the state of Michigan.
Rock made the announcement via Twitter, and through a new website KidRockForSenate.com.
"I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… http://kidrockforsenate.com The answer is an absolute YES," Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, wrote on Twitter.
Rock has history of support for republican politics, and has described himself as a libertarian. In 2012, he endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and was an early support of President Trump, telling Rolling Stone in early 2016 that he was "digging Trump."
"Let the motherfucking business guy run it like a fucking business," he told the publication in the February 2016 interview.
