LOS ANGELES (Hypebot) — We doubt she's biting her nails just yet, but after first week, “Born this Way" sales of almost 1.2 million copies, Lady Gaga's second week sales dropped a whopping 85% to just 169,387 copies.
Of course, 440,000 of those first week sales were for only for 99 cents on Amazon. Overall digital sales dropped to just 38,000 units, down 94% from a debut week of 662,000. CD sales of "Born This Way" fell 70%.
You could argue that Lady Gaga's team did such a great job of pre-release promo that everyone who wanted to buy the album did in the first week. But compare Gaga to Adele. The later's “21" album was only down 4% last week.
