Live Nation Announces Faster Horses Festival

BROOKLYN, MI (CelebrityAcceess MediaWire) — Billed as a "three-day hillbilly sleepover" the festival is a country music camping festival set for a field near the Michigan International Speedway on the weekend of July 19-21, 2013.

Produced by Live Nation and their President of Country music Brian O'Connell, the festival has yet to reveal a lineup, but plans to do so within the next week, according to a count-down timer on their website. While the linup has not been announced, O'Connell Billboard.biz that they had lined up 25 acts for the festival's main stage already. O'Connell went on to say that while there may be a few surprises, he was working on a lineup that he hoped would appeal to country music fans.

While additional details for the event are sketchy, event producers have come up with a high concept video that shows stampeding horses intermixed with scenes from America's industral heartland before sequing into scenes from a country music festival.

As Billboard noted, country music is a niche that is poorly represented in the increasingly crowded music festival scene in North America. Major competitors include Goldenvoice's Stagecoach Festival in California in April and the CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June and the Watershed festival in Washington from August 3-5, which is also produced by O'Connell. Other country-focused festivals include the Flatlands Country Music Festival in Kansas in September, the We Fest in Minnesota in early August and Country USA in Oskosh Wisconsin from June 25-29. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
