McCarren Pool Concerts Find New Home

BROOKLYN, NY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — After McCarren Poll Park said goodbye to their popular summer concerts when the pool was closed for remodeling, many wondered where or even if the concerts would continue. Well, these questions have been answered by the recent announcement that the events would continue this summer at a park between North Eighth and North Ninth streets.

The announcement was made by concert coordinator the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn and state Assemblyman Joseph Lentol's office, Newsday reported. The park was described by the New York Times as "A strip along the East River between North Eighth and North Ninth Streets was designated a New York State park a few years ago"

According to Alliance executive director Stephanie Thayer, the park will match the pool's capacity for about six thousand concert-goers and that she plans to reach out to previous promoters who staged shows at the pool (read Live Nation) and looks to expand offerings to include classical and opera concerts as well. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
