LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Australian songstress Kylie Minogue will become the first woman to be awarded the Music Industry Trusts award.
This prestigious award is conferred to recognize the contributions of influential people in the music industry and will be given to the 38 year-old singer at a ceremony in London at Grosvenor House on October 29.
David Munn, Chairman of the Awards Committee, said: "Kylie deserves this award for her success over 20 years, staying at the top in one of the toughest professions and inspiring millions with her grace, dignity and humanity."
Kylie overcame breast cancer in 2005 and has returned to performing, just completing a hugely successful 'Showgirl' tour which concluded last fall. Minogue has sold over 40 million albums worldwide during the 20 year span of her career.
Kylie said: "It is an incredible honor to be the recipient of this year's award and I am truly thrilled to be recognized in this way." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
