MONTVILLE, CT (CelebrityAccess) — The Mohegan Sun is expanding their venue offerings with the opening of COMIX, a brand new club focusing on stand-up comedy.
The new 8,000 square foot space features a 325 seat theater custom designed for comedy acts and will host 364 shows a year, Wednesday through Sunday.
The venue will also have craft beer on tap, serving 24 local, regional, and national craft beers. The bar will also offer more than 50 types of bourbon whiskey as well as a full pub food menu.
The Mohegan Sun will stage a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 7th, with the club open for business on Oct. 9th with live entertainment. Acts on the bill for October and November include Julian McCullough, Alonzo , Lenny Clarke, Jamie Kennedy and Rod Man.
"We are extremely excited to be partnering with COMIX, an alignment of two of the strongest names in the entertainment industry," said Bobby Soper, Chief Executive Officer for the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority. "With the addition of the new comedy club, Mohegan Sun will now feature one of the best trios of entertainment venues all under one roof and within 100 yards of each other. It will be hard to find another destination where in a given night, it's possible for an act like The Zac Brown Band to be playing The Wolf Den, Justin Timberlake on stage in The Arena and Lenny Clarke delivering standup at COMIX." – Staff Writers
