NYC's Chicago B.L.U.E.S. To Shutter

New York City's blues club, Chicago's B.L.U.E.S., is to close Aug. 17. Located on Eighth Avenue near 14th Street at the northern edge of Greenwich Village, the blues club was a stop for major blues artists on the club level.

The club plans a farewell jam on closing night led by Jimmy Vivino, who is part of the Max Weinberg Seven on "The Conan O'Brien Show," as well as a fixture on the New York Scene. With Manny's Car Wash closing a few years ago, the Apple will lose its second primary blues club.
