O'Conner Named SVP At AEG Facilities


LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Rod O'Connor has been tapped to fill the newly-created position of Sr. Vice President, Operations AEG Facilities it was announced by Bob Newman, Chief Operating Officer, AEG Facilities.

AEG has been enjoying expansion boom and in the last year alone has AEG Facilities has created partnerships with over two dozen venues worldwide including Target Center, AT & T Center, The XL Center, Rentschler Field, Conseco Fieldhouse, E-Center, The O2 and thru its Australian-based entity AEG Ogden, Telstra Stadium, Suncorp Stadium, Acer Arena and Brisbane Entertainment Center.

Prior to joining The Home Depot Center, O'Connor was the president of the X Prize Foundation, a Santa Monica-based non-profit that creates and manages multi-million dollar prize competitions to enable radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity. He is also the founding principal of The ROC Group, a grassroots, communications and event marketing consulting practice with clients in the business, non-profit and political sectors.

O'Connor was previously the CEO for the 2004 Democratic National Convention Corporation in Boston, Mass. As CEO, he built an organization from the group up, ultimately managing 300 employees and consultants and a budget in excess of $55 million. Prior to the convention, O'Connor was the vice president for corporate affairs at Citynet Telecommunications. He has also served as a senior aide to Vice President Al Gore and as the chief of staff for the Democratic National Committee.
