Denver-based Qwest Communications International Inc. has signed a $14 million, 15-year naming rights deal for a new $291 million convention center and arena opening later this summer in Omaha, NE. As part of the deal, Qwest will provide $35,000 a year in wireless services and $60,000 a year for a luxury suite.
Qwest Center Omaha will be home to the Creighton University Bluejays men's basketball team and he University of Nebraska at Omaha's men's hockey team.
The 15,000-seat venue is part of a $1.8-billion redevelopment project in downtown Omaha.–by Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
