HILLSDALE MI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Heavy rain and lightning delayed a Randy Travis concert at the Hillsdale County Fair on Saturday night.
The concert, planned as the culmination to the week long fair was very nearly rained out.
Heavy rain, thunder and lightning are blamed for delaying the start of Saturday night’s Randy Travis concert at the Hillsdale County Fair. The resulting mud also interfered with setting up seating for several hundred ticket holders on the track.
"I’d like to put as positive a spin on it as possible by saying we watched the weather all afternoon," Scott Dow, fair manager told Hillsdale.net "We saw the mud being a problem and brought in wood chips to help support the chairs we needed to put on the track."
In addition to causing consternation among fans, the inclement weather also made it difficult for the sound engineer to set up and test his equipment. Ultimately the concert was delayed for twenty minutes before Travis went on.
Delays and productivity weren't the only problems brought on by the weather as Travis' concert vehicle got stuck in the mud and had to be pulled free by a wrecker. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers.
