Ridglea Theater Looks To Host Live Music Again

FORT WORTH, TX (CelebrityAccess) — The historic Ridglea Theater complex in Forth Worth announced that live music will be returning to the venue.

While the venue has only seen occasional live music performances since Jerry Shults assumed ownership six years ago, he is hoping to change that, starting with a show by Dallas-based AC/DC tribute band Back in Black on Sept. 17th.

In a recent interview with the Star-Telegram's Preston Jones, Schults said that he had held discussions with local promoters, including Afallon Productions, Premier Live Experience and Blackbox Concerts, but noted that the theater was still being booked in-house for the time being.

Since taking ownership, Schults has overseen the theater's listing on the National Register of Historic Places and the renovation of the 400-capacity Ridglea Room.

Shults also hinted to the Star-Telegram that he hopes to expand the venue's performance spaces, pointing to the success of other venues such as Gilley's as inspiration.

“This is a functional entity now, where the whole thing works together,” Shults told the newspaper. “This is actually support for the theater, which never had infrastructure. And every successful venue I’m seeing has multiple stages.”
