(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The trial between Mountain View, California, and Shoreline Ampthitheatre operators Live Nation was postponed earlier this week until May 15, after the two parties reported made some headway during last-minute settlement talks.
“It appears as if Clear Channel [Live Nation] is recognizing that this is a case they would like to get resolved, and from our perspective this is a positive development,” Councilman Michael Kasperzak told the San Jose Mercury News.
Neither side would disclose the details of the current talks.
A settlement would bring closure to the 3-year-old lawsuit filed against the city by Live Nation in 2003. The company said the city was not adhering to the lease agreement whe nit relocated the venue parking lot. The company also sued to block city audits of the venue. The city then countersued, claiming Live Nation was withholding revenue.
