Sixth Voodoo Music Experience Set For October 16-17

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The sixth Voodoo Music Experience is set for October 16-17 in City Park, New Orleans with more than 60 artists. "The essence of Voodoo is amazing," says the event's independent promoter Stephan Rehage. "Many people in the Voodoo culture believe there are no accidents. And it's no accident that every fall these cultural diehards submerse themselves into the New Orleans underbelly and ignite the diversity of the festival. It's really something you have to experience."

This year's talent line-up includes Beastie Boys, Velvet Revolver, Kid Rock, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pixies, Green Day, Paul Van Dyk, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Polyphonic Spree, The Killers, Cypress Hill, Shinedown, New Found Glory, Sonic Youth, Phantom Planet, Cowboy Mouth, Snow Patrol, Particle, Supagroup, Wylde Bunch, Killradio, Gooding, Ghost, Gogol Bordello, Metric, De La Soul, Gomez, The Thrillsm Alterbridge and others to be named.

Some of the artists who have performed at Voodoo in the past include artists Iggy The Stooges, Eminem, Stone Temple Pilots, Missy Elliott, 50 Cent, Marilyn Manson, The White Stripes, Snoop Dogg, The Black Crowes, Gov't Mule, and The Chemical Brothers.

Tickets are $40 per day and $70 for a two-day pass. The Voodoo Music Experience is sponsored by PlayStation®, Rollingstone.com, Southern Comfort, Stuff Magazine, SoBe Beverages, Miller Lite, KKND, Sheraton New Orleans, SPIN Magazine, Blender Magazine, Nola.com, Where Y'At Magazine, OffBeat Magazine, neworleans.com, DCComics, Mad Magazine, Guess and Jambase. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
