PORTSMOUTH, NH (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Bruce Houghton, president of Skyline Music, has launched a new marketing division called Skyline Innovations. Run by Skyline Innovations Director Erin Smith, the division will create and provide affordable, personalized marketing services to a variety of touring artists, including those not on Skyline Music’s exclusive roster.
“We’ve been preaching the importance of promotion to artists and managers for years and written about how technology is changing music marketing on our popular industry blog Hypebot (http://www.hypebot.com),” states Houghton. “It’s time for us to put these ideas into action."
Skyline Innovations will work with clients in a variety of areas including public relations and tour marketing as well as the design and creation of physical and digital marketing materials. A specific digital marketing division will assist artists in their marketing efforts using social networking sites, ringtones and inventive web sites in order to encourage the growth and continuity of fan relationships.
“The old methods don’t work anymore, but the internet has created a multitude of new opportunities," says Smith. "One of our goals is to choose the avenues that bring tangible results and to utilize or create the most original yet practical ways for our clients to market their music.
“With the demise of traditional label marketing, more and more pressure is being put on the artist to communicate directly with their fans," Smith continues. “Our goal is to stay affordable and create effective personalized services that work.”
Skyline Innovations also offers personalized ticketing services unique to each artist, which builds loyalty and increases web traffic by enabling fans to obtain priority seating at shows with lower ticket charges. — Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
