Staircase To Go To The Highest Online Bidder

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Staircase Nightclub in Pittston, Pennsylvania, is up for sale…on eBay.

The club closed its doors officially on December 11th, ending a run that saw the likes of Gretchen Wilson, Big and Rich, Black Eyed Peas, Ted Nugent, Queensryche, and Tesla as well as several other major names over the past two years.

The club is listed on the auction site at $795,000 in the Commercial Real Estate section, with bidding ending on Christmas Eve. As of press time, there were no bids.

According to its listing, the club covers 9,000 square feet and resides on a 5-acre lot.

The description states that, “the venue is available because the sole founding mom/pop owners aren't geared and scaled for efficient operation of a venue of this magnitude.” Some nights, according to the listing, brought in daily grosses in excess of $20,000.

“The trend in music is changing. The Staircase was built for live music, it was designed to be loud,” Staircase owner Jimmy O’Malley told The Citizens’ Voice. “Now, people want to go to smaller bars and just have background music. At the Staircase, the music was the focus.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
