HONOLULU (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — As AEG Facilities prepares to assume management duties at the Hawaii Convention Center January 1, the company has named Teri Orton as the new General Manager of the 1.1 million square-foot facility located at the entrance to Waikïkï, O‘ahu. She will join AEG on December 18.
In her new role, Orton's duties will include oversight of the Convention Center, including sales, marketing, operations, finance and concessions for the facility.
Prior to accepting the position, Orton was Vice President of Condominium Resort Marketing for Outrigger Enterprises Group, which consists of 16 properties in the Hawaiian Islands. Other experience on her C.V. includes sales and marketing executive positions Embassy Suites, The Ilikai, W Diamond Head, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and the Huntington Beach Hilton Resort.
A native of Hawai'i, Orton majored in communications at the University of Hawaii.
AEG takes over the management of the Honolulu center from SMG, which has run the venue since it opened in 1998. – Staff Writers
