The Family Stone Get Stranded

GRAND CAYMAN ISLANDS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Family Stone found themselves stranded in The Grand Cayman Islands this week (oh the torment) by inclement waves and weather in the Caribbean from Hurricane Rina.

The Family Stone had been set to perform on the cruise ship Carnival Valor as a part of the 5th Annual Capital Jazz Cruise, but hours before they were to board the plane to Belize for their rendezvous with the ship, Tynisha Brooks with Capital Jazz informing them that the cruise could no longer port in Belize as a result of inclimate weather in the Caribbean from Hurricane Rina.

Instead, Tynisha asked if the Family Stone could meet the ship in the Grand Caymans and obligingly, the Family Stone changed their flight. Shortly after arriving at the island, they discovered that the ship was unable to dock at in the Grand Caymens either due to strong wind and waves from the same storm.

A plan for a third re-route to meet the ship in Ocho Rios unraveled when the group learned that all flights out of the islands had been totally booked and were grounded for two days by the storm to boot.

The Family Stone made the best of their 'confinement,' staging a public rehearsal in the hotel's lobby against the backdrop of the storm outside.

As soon as possible, the band will be taking a flight to Ocho Rios in order to make the scene at the Harvest Festival in New Roads, Louisiana and then heading across the Pacific for a string of dates in Oz. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
