How powerful is the Internet as a ticket selling outlet? Pretty powerful. More than 92,000 tickets were sold for Bon Jovi's upcoming, 23-city "One Wild Night 2001" tour during Ticketmaster's online presale that kicked off Feb. 22, including 53 percent of the tickets available for the group's July 27 hometown gig at Giants Stadium.
"One of Ticketmaster's goals is to allow fans expedient and convenient ticket access to their favorite shows," said TM's Terry Barnes. "The success of the Bon Jovi presale is a testament to the flexibility and power of Ticketmaster's resources in achieving these goals. In teaming with Island Records, Bon Jovi, VH1, MSN, House of Blues and SFX we were able to reach the online Bon Jovi fans with amazing results."
