VIENNA, Austria (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation Entertainment has expanded their presence in Europe with the launch of Ticketmaster International in Austria, marking the second German-language market for their ticketing division since it launched in Germany in 2011.
Numerous promoters including Germany's Deutsche Entertainment AG (DEAG,) operating both in Germany and Austria, and in all live sectors, including music, sports, arts, festivals, family events and attractions have signed on to use the ticketing service.
The first tickets sold on the platform this week, were for Austrian André Heller's successful touring production of Afrika! Afrika! in Vienna.
The launch follows the favorable resolution through arbitration of a long standing dispute with German ticketing company CTS Eventim. Live Nation signed a 10-year deal for ticketing services with Eventim before merging with Ticketmaster in early 2010, obviating the need for the agreement.
