TOUR UPDATES: FYE Is Retail Sponsor For Ozzfest 2002 – Injury Causes Guided By Voices Show Cancellations & More

FYE, one of the country's leading specialty retailers of music, movies and games, is the exclusive music retail sponsorship of Ozzfest 2002. The tour, produced and promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment, kicks-off on July 6th in Bristow, VA and travels to 30 U.S. markets.

Ozzfest 2002 will feature a line-up of heavy metal's artists, including Ozzy Osbourne, System of A Down, Rob Zombie, POD, Drowning Pool, Adema, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, The Apex Theory, Mushroomhead, Soil and more.
FYE will offer fans the rare opportunity to meet select tour artists and purchase their CDs by setting up unique autograph signing tents located on-site at the "Village of the Damned," Ozzfest's renowned interactive festival area.

can visit FYE locations or log onto www.fye.com for special offers and Ozzfest ticket promotions. FYE will also be included in tour advertising, receive on-site presence at concerts and will feature
their association with Ozzfest on in-store signage.

Injury Causes Guided By Voices Show Cancellations



Guided By Voices canceled its May 12 show in Pittsburgh and May 14 gig in New York, after frontman Robert Pollard suffered a back injury. Both shows are likely be rescheduled at the end of an upcoming June/July tour. The band is promoting Universal Truths and Cycles (Matador), due out June 18.












Unlimited Sunshine Tour 2002


Cake, The Flaming Lips, De La Soul, Modest Mouse, and Kinky are touring
together this summer under the Unlimited Sunshine 2002 banner. The tour is the
brainchild of Cake's John McCrea and Pete McNeal. The Hackensaw Boys will
perform acoustic bluegrass interludes between sets.

"This music, to varying degrees, exists outside of the very concepts of

mainstream and alternative," explains McCrea. "The criteria are alive and not
theoretical, musical and not cultural or economic. We just wanted to find some
music that we didn't hate and put it into a show."

Hand Injury Sidelines Gravity Kills


Gravity Kills cancelled its remaining concert dates after keyboardist Doug Firley seriously injured his hand during the group's Allentown, PA show, when Firley dropped his springloaded keyboard on his
hand during a song. Firley is now home in St. Louis undergoing treatment.

The group is still expected to return to the road on May 19 for a WAAF performance and will be on the Locobazooka tour, which kicks off June 27 at Milwaukee Summerfest.
