LIVERPOOL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Police arrested more than 120 arrests at the Mathew Street and Creamfields music festivals in the UK last weekend.
Cheshire Police detained 10 people, and cautioned 21 more at the Creamfields dance music fest in Daresbury.
On the same weekend at Liverpool's free Mathew Street Festival, police chalked up 26 daytime arrests for offenses ranging from assault and drunk & disorderly to drug possession. Evening arrests were as follows: 96 were detained and 65 arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
While these arrest figures may seem large, they constituted a very small percentage of the more than 290,000 festival-goers who were in attendance at these events.
"We are pleased with the way the vast majority of people who attended the festival behaved." Chief Constable Helen King told the Liverpool News. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
