Universal Music Group (UMG) has entered into a partnership with Instant Live, a division of Clear Channel Entertainment’s Music Group, to deliver live recordings to fans immediately following artists’ live performances.
“Instant Live provides a unique product, a custom live music CD that extends the live concert experience and strengthens the connection between artists and fans,” stated Larry Kenswil, president of eLabs, UMG’s new media and technologies division. “We are delighted to be in business with them, offering our consumers even more ways to enjoy the musical experience.”
In most instances, the Instant Live CDs are delivered to fans within six minutes of the end of a concert. For fans that are not able to attend a show, the recordings are made available on the Instant Live Web site, individual artists’ Web sites and participating retailers nationwide. Digital downloads will be made available through digital music retailers.
