ASHEVILLE, NC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Asheville, North Carolina’s annual Christmas Jam, hosted by native son and Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes, packed the Civic Center over the weekend and delighted fans in 18th year of bringing blues and rock to the area each holiday season.
The Christmas Jam has become the highlight of Asheville’s vibrant music scene, selling out 7,200 seats to attendees from 42 states and overseas.
This year’s line-up feature acoustic jam legend Dave Matthews, drawing even greater attention to the already stellar show featuring singer-songwriter Randall Bramblett, blues great Taj Mahal, The John Popper Project featuring the Blues Traveler frontman with DJ Logic on turntables, guitarist Audley Free, the New Orleans Social Club, Marty Stuart, and of course Haynes facilitating many collaborations throughout the night.
A benefit for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, the event raised about $114,000 last year, executive director Lew Kraus told the Asheville Citizen-Times.
