LONDON (CelebrityAccess) – BBC DJ Mark Radcliffe announced Wednesday (Oct. 3) that he will be taking some time off from his Radio 2 and 6 Music shows to undergo cancer treatment.

The presenter, who has been diagnosed with early-stage tongue cancer, told listeners that he hopes to be back on the air by the New Year.

Radcliffe also shared the news via Twitter.

A BBC spokesman said: “Everyone at Radio 2 and 6 Music wishes Mark well and we look forward to welcoming him back when he’s ready.”
