Austin City Limits Music Festival Sets Talent Lineup

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

Organizers of the Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival have released the lineup for 2005, featuring a mix of established performers and emerging artists set to take the stage September 23-25 in downtown Austin's Zilker Park. The ACL Festival brings together more than 130 rock, roots, indie, Americana, country and reggae bands performing on eight stages.

This year's bill features Coldplay, Widespread Panic, Oasis, The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers Band, John Prine, Arcade Fire and Kasabian, who are all making their Austin City Limits Music Festival debuts. Returning ACL performers include Wilco, Rachael Yamagata, Robert Randolph & The Family Band and Franz Ferdinand, among others.

The festival, created in the spirit of the legendary Austin City Limits public television show, captures the unique culture of Austin through music, food, art, ambiance and other activities. In continuing efforts to meet and exceed fan expectations, Festival organizers have reduced daily capacity by 10,000 fans. This year's festival experience will be further improved with the addition of more shaded areas, faster services, streamlined transportation and enhanced sound.

"We're excited about the diverse musical talent playing at this year's Festival and feel strongly this lineup has something for everyone," said Charlie Jones, executive producer. "The stellar music, the beautiful setting, and some of the best accommodations available at a music festival make the ACL Music Festival an event that people want to attend year after year."

A limited number of three-day passes are available. On the heels of a Saturday sell-out in 2004, reduced capacity for 2005 and extremely positive fan feedback, ticket demand continues to be high. When the current allotment is sold out, ticket prices will increase.

Official 2005 sponsors include SBC companies, Cingular, Heineken, Austin Ventures, Capital Metro, BMI, H-E-B, Blackstone and Gibson Guitars. –Bob Grosasweiner and Jane Cohen
