SAN DIEGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — 17 Fans were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during Tool's set at San Diego's Street Scene festival, Artist Direct reported.

A number of fans were trampled when the crowd tried to rush the stage, prompting Maynard Keenan, frontman for Tool to pause between songs to try to urge the crowd to calm down and move back from the stage. "Step back so you don't get trampled. It's just rock." he said to the overly enthusiastic crowd.

Only one of the injuries was reported to be serious, leading authorities to say that they were pleased with the safety of the event.
