NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Veteran agent Mitch Blackman has departed Red Entertainment to accept a position with ICM.
Mitch graduated from the University of North Texas on a jazz scholarship. After several years on the talent end of the biz, playing trumpet and fronting his own bands, Mitch made the jump to the industry side by becoming an agent at Associated Booking and later Wenig-LaMonica where he worked. Blackman joined Red Entertainment in 2006 as the Managing Director of Urban Touring, a position he held until joining ICM. Mitch is already up and running at ICM's New York office.

Mitch will be responsible for the Midwest region and will book the acts on his roster internationally. The disposition of the artists that he repped while at Red Entertainment is still something of a question although Mitch confirmed that Dwele is making the jump with him and that he's recently agreed to exclusively rep Musiq Soulchild.
"Being a musician and gigging around I understood the need for artists to have good representation, that a good agent not only works for and with an artist but can be an advocate for making sure things get done right for everyone involved."
