LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Drake and Migos, two of the hottest stars in contemporary hip-hop, announced that launch of their upcoming double-headlining tour has been postponed.
The Aubrey & the Three Migos was slated to kick off on July 26th at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City but now has been pushed back to August 10th when the tour is slated to instead launch in Kansas City.
A statement from a spokesperson for Drake attributed the postponement to production delays.
“In order to deliver the high standard tour experience our fans expect and deserve, we have made the necessary decision to slightly adjust the beginning of the Aubrey & the Three Migos tour schedule,” the statement said.
A selection of the early dates on the tour have been shifted, including St. Paul, Minnesota which had been scheduled for August 1st, and which will now take place on August 12th.
A trio of shows in Drake’s hometown of Toronto has been pushed back to Aug. 20, 21 and 22; and the Salt Lake City show, which had originally been the tour opener, is now scheduled for October 10th.
Additionally, a show planned for Chicago on August 20th has been outright canceled.
While Drake’s team and promoter Live Nation laid the postponement at the feet of production delays, the shift in schedule comes just days after Migos rapper Offset was arrested in Georgia on felony gun and drug charges.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was arrested near Atlanta on Friday after Clayton County Police allege they found marijuana, three firearms and more than $100,000 in cash in his car.
Cephus, 26, was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, as well as misdemeanor charges for improper lane change and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
Cephus is currently on probation after a 2015 arrest for drug and weapon possession.
