LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Demi Lovato is reportedly awake and in stable condition at a Los Angeles hospital after an apparent overdose.
Lovato was found unresponsive at her Hollywood Hills home yesterday afternoon and was reportedly treated with Narcan, which combats opiods, then taken to a hospital via ambulance. TMZ had an initial source that said Lovato overdosed on heroin but later reports said she was uncooperative with EMTs and refused to say what drug was apparently taken. A source told TMZ that “it’s not heroin.”
“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” Lovato’s rep said in a statement. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
Lovato has been successfully, and very publicly, sober for several years after battling addictions, and even introduced the song “Sober” recently, although by then she had admitted she had fallen off the wagon. TMZ has reported that she had a recent falling out with her sobriety coach, claiming he had betrayed her. Sources also told the website that Lovato was at the Saddle Ranch on Monday night, celebrating the birthday of one of her dancers.
