Adele 'Doing Well' After Throat Surgery

LONDON (VIP NEWS) — British singer Adele is thanking fans for their support after vocal cord surgery forced her to cancel remaining 2011 tour dates in the U.S. and the U.K.

Apologizing for not blogging in "a while," she wrote on her website, "Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I'm doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all.

"The operation was a success and I'm just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors. Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards I've won recently as well. Hugely appreciated. I best get back to practicing my mime show now. Take care, miss you all — Always adele xx."

Adele had surgery Nov. 7 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to stop bleeding on a benign polyp on her vocal cords. A specialist in laryngeal surgery at Harvard, Dr. Steven Zeitels performed the operation. He expected "Adele to make a full recovery from her laser microsurgery," the hospital said in a statement.

The 17 shows that were scrapped by Adele pose at a potential loss of $7 million on the low end and up to $10 million.

John Mayer and Keith Urban also recently had throat-related surgeries in recent weeks.
