AEG Announces Promotions At Staples Center


LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — AEG Live has announced the hiring and promotion of several employees at the company's flagship Staples Center, Nokia Theatre and L.A. LIVE venues.

Jen Sandstrom has been promoted from Senior Director of Event Services to Vice President of Event Services. She began her career at Staples Center as an Event Coordinator and has worked her way up the ranks from Event Manager, to Sr. Event Manger, to Director of Event Services and will now fill her current role of Vice President of Event Services. Sandstrom has been with Staples Center since the downtown Los Angles arena opened in October 1999.

Matt Doisher has joined the Event Services team as an Event Manager. Prior to joining Staples Center, he worked as an Event Manager for Wizard World based out of El Segundo, California.

Cara Vanderhook has been promoted from Director of Communications and Social Media to Senior Director of Communications and Social Media. Vanderhook started with AEG in 2003 as an intern and started her full time career as a Communications Coordinator for AEG in 2004, then moved over to assume the role of Manager of Communications and Marketing for Staples Center and Nokia Theatre in 2007. Eventually she moved in the role of Senior Manager of Communications and Social Media, then Director of Communications and Social Media in 2012. Vanderhook currently oversees all communications, public relations and social media for Staples Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE.

David Valdez has been promoted from Marketing Coordinator to Assistant Manager of Marketing. Valdez began his career with Staples Center and Nokia Theatre in April 2013.

Evan Gole has been hired as the new Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Staples Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. Prior to joining Staples Center and Nokia Theatre, Gole worked as a professional photographer for Bernstein Associates for the past ten years.

Jim Kelly has been promoted from Senior Manager of Guest Services to Director of Guest Services. Kelly joined the Staples Center Guest Services department in 2008 as a Guest Services Manager and transitioned into the team, working with the Los Angeles Kings at first and now the Los Angeles Lakers as the primary Guest Services contact for their home games, as well as overseeing guest services for many concerts and special events.

Steven Sanchez has been promoted from Assistant Manager of Security to Manager of Security. Sanchez joined Staples Center as a Security Officer. He will continue to oversee security operations for Los Angeles Kings home games and concerts/special events, as well as take on additional roles working with the arena’s full-time security officers and 24/7 security operations. – Staff Writers
