BBB Blows Up Ticket Scammer's Spot

OMAHA, NE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — According to the Better Business Bureau, Husker Nation Seats, a one-man ticket-selling operation run by Lamond Wilburn is taking money for tickets for sporting events, concerts and plays, but never actually ships the paying customers their tickets.

The Omaha World-Herald reports that one consumer in Utah is out more than $2,000, and ticketless after ordering 10 tickets for a performance of the Lion King play in Salt Lake City. Meanwhile, another consumer, from Austin, Texas, is out nearly $700 after ordering tickets through Husker Nation Seats, located at 2505 N 24th St. in Omaha.

Wilburn told the BBB that the complaints were due to “management oversight.” However, it’s believed that Wilburn is Husker Nation Seats’ only employee, making his excuse an unlikely cause for the missing tickets, said Jim Hegarty, chief executive and president of the BBB in Nebraska, southwest Iowa and South Dakota according to the Omaha World-Herald.

The BBB downgraded Husker Nation Seats to an “F” rating on its website, meaning it’s not a reliable company and that consumers should avoid dealings with it.

According to the BBB, some consumers who were charged by Husker Nation Seats but never received tickets were refunded by their credit card companies.

Ticket Network, the company that provided Wilburn with inventory management software, terminated his license after receiving multiple complaints about the operation Wilburn was running. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
